Vintage style glass mushroom ‘stringer’ teardrop necklaces- made to order! Choose your favorite color. These mushrooms are created by melting the end of a blob of hot clear glass while shoving a ‘stringer’, or very thin piece of colored glass, precisely in the heated area while controlling the flow of the clear glass and creating a ‘bloom’ effect with controlled cooling. Timing and heat control are essential. Once the mushroom is formed, a bail is sculpted from the remaining mushroom-free glass and the pendant is placed into the kiln and held at 1060 degrees Fahrenheit for several hours and cooled very slowly to ensure a strong and stable transition as the glass shrinks while cooling.
